National Novel Writing Month has a very special place in my heart, as the 2014 challenge was where I wrote the first draft of my debut novel. So in the midst of all the chaos in the world right now, I am hoping to embark on the Camp Nanowrimo challenge this April to try and keep some structure in my writing.
So join me in this race! The usual Nanowrimo has a static goal of writing 50,000 words of a new project in the month of November, but Camp Nano is a lot more fluid and embraces setting your own goals and benchmarks. I am aiming for 30,000 words in April, but feel free to set your goal whatever helps you best.
Additionally, the great folks at Nanowrimo have been putting together a lot of great resources and support for everyone who is social distancing due to COVID-19 right now, myself very much included, under their #StayHomeWriMo initiative. Check it out for writing tips, self-care and mental health exercises, and much more.
