So I am absolutely thrilled to announce that for the second year in a row, one of my plays has been chosen for inclusion in Best of PlayGround, a collection of plays from this season of Monday Night PlayGround. My piece “Third Date” will be given a full staging and shown from May 9th-26th at Potrero Stage along with five other great plays by Linda Amayo-Hassan, Tom Bruett, Lauren Gorski, Sam Hurwitt, Molly Olis Krost, and Nic A. Sommerfeld. Tickets are available now and I would love to see any of my Bay Area peers there!
Additionally, I am thrilled to announce that I have been chosen as the recipient of the 2019 June Anne Baker Prize for my work with PlayGround this season.
The prize, which includes a full-length play commission, is awarded annually to a female playwright representing a gifted new comedic or political voice. Past prize winners include Lauren Yee, Geetha Reddy, and Erin Bregman. The awards presentation and a reception with the winner will take place immediately following the Saturday, May 18 performance of Best of PlayGround.
I am incredibly honored to be able to work with PlayGround on a full-length play commission, and to be included with such a wonderful group of fellow female playwrights. 2019 has and continues to be a very busy year for me as a writer, and I am so excited that I continue to have things on the horizon!
